Tele-Health Appointments

We offer telehealth visits for the convenience of our patients who are occasionally unable to make an in-person visit to our office.  Our telehealth service is integrated within our Electronic Medical Record System (EMR) using state-of-the-art secure communication technology.  

How Tele-Health Visits Work

A telehealth visit is very easy.  After your appointment is set you will receive email and text messages with links inviting you to join at the scheduled appointment time.  The link in the message will launch a window on your computer or mobile device to begin your visit.

Two Easy Ways to Schedule a Telehealth Visit

1. Scheduling a Telehealth Visit by phone: Just call us at (669) 721-1315 and request a telehealth visit and we will take care of the rest.


2. Self Schedule Using Online Portal: follow these steps:

  • Go to the patient Portal
  • Select Appointments from the left hand menu
  • Click on "Schedule Appointment" using the button near the center of page
  • In the top left menu, select the reason for the visit.  NOTE: The available appointment time slots will not display until a reason for visit is selected.
  • Choose either: Follow up-Telehealth, Pre-Op Visit-Telehealth, or Sick Visit-Telehealth
  • Select a time slot and click Schedule Appointment to confirm your selection

Preparing For Your Tele-Health Visit & What to Expect

Preparing For Your Visit:


  • Once scheduled for a telehealth consultation, please enter the virtual waiting room at least 5 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time using the link provided to your mobile device or computer. 


  • A medical staff member will check you in and then hand you off to your physician.


  • Before the appointment your provider will have access to your medical records history through the use of secure technology provided by our EMR system.


  • During your visit you must be physically located within California.


  • Telehealth visits are not free, they are billed to your insurance just like a normal visit



What to Expect:


  • Once connected to the video visit, you and your physician will have a face-to-face conversation where you can explain your symptoms, and discuss treatment options.


  • After reviewing your clinical information and listening to your current symptoms, our physicians will provide a comprehensive treatment plan.


  • Treatment plans recommended by your physician may require additional testing or examination on-site at Insight Family Health, a lab, or at an outside specialist.  As always, all results can be viewed by logging into our electronic medical record (EMR) portal.


Hot Tips for a Successful Telehealth Visit

  • Position your camera at eye level so your head and shoulders are fully visible
  • Test your webcam in advance, check volume and microphone
  • Check that your location has adequate internet connection to support video
  • Plug in your computer or mobile device to avoid running out of battery during the call
  • Dress appropriately and be sure you have good lighting
  • Make your telehealth connection from a quiet space where you will not be interrupted


Warning: Do not attempt to conduct your virtual visit while driving, we will disconnect your call and you will have to re-schedule, as well as pay a cancellation fee.
